Unfortunately there will be no online edition of the MEC Poker Open in the month of November. The reason for this is that the contract extension with Bwin fell through at the last minute, which means that the MEC Poker Open cannot organize an online event.

“Our preference was for a physical MEC Poker Open,” says co-founder of the MEC Poker Open Mathijs Jonkers. “Unfortunately, that still turned out to be very uncertain. Measures in the Netherlands and Belgium were relaxed only in the last weeks, which made the preparation of the MEC Poker Open more difficult. Therefore we wanted to organize an online variant. For a long time it seemed like the sponsorship contract with Bwin would be extended, but unfortunately this is not the case. Therefore, the MEC Poker Open currently has no sponsor where the event can take place online. We want to thank Bwin for the cooperation of recent years and maybe there will be another cooperation in the future.”
